Angiography/CAG
Angiography, also known as CAG, is an imaging technique used to examine the blood vessels and the flow of blood within them. It involves the injection of a contrast dye into the bloodstream, followed by X-ray imaging to capture detailed pictures of the blood vessels.
Angioplasty/PTCA
Angioplasty, also known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI),involves the use of a balloon-tipped catheter to widen narrowed or blocked arteries. Often, a stent is placed in the artery during angioplasty to keep it open and maintain proper blood flow.
Pacemaker
A pacemaker is a small electronic device implanted in the chest or abdomen to help regulate abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). It sends electrical impulses to the heart muscles, prompting the heart to beat at a normal rate and rhythm.
Balloon angioplasty involves the use of a small balloon attached to a catheter to widen a narrowed or blocked artery. The balloon is inflated at the site of the blockage, compressing the plaque against the artery walls, thus improving blood flow.
VSD
A VSD is a congenital heart defect characterized by a hole in the septum that divides the left and right ventricles of the heart. This hole allows oxygen-rich blood from the left ventricle to mix with oxygen-poor blood from the right ventricle, causing the heart to work harder to deliver enough oxygen to the body
TAVR
TAVR is a procedure used to treat aortic valve stenosis, a condition where the aortic valve becomes narrowed and restricts blood flow from the heart to the rest of the body. This minimally invasive technique involves inserting a new valve within the diseased valve using a catheter, which is guided through the blood vessels to the heart.
